Scope
Web design · Build · Performance · SEO

The brief
Twelve years of awards. Second at Wingfest Buffalo. Top 3 wings in Australia. None of it on the website — because the website was a rented FoodHub ordering template.
The problem
The old site took 54 seconds to become usable on a phone, had no catering page, no locations, no founder story, no schema, and a canonical tag pointing at a URL that didn't exist. Every catering enquiry typed into Google was going to a competitor.
How we approached it.
- 01
Custom build with the trophy cabinet, the founder story and the two anchor venues all above the fold
- 02
Dedicated catering page — three packages, a five-field quote form, 24-hour response promise
- 03
Where-We-Are page with anchor venues, trading hours, Google Maps links, JSON-LD location schema, and a weekly pop-up slot read from a JSON file the owner can update from a phone
- 04
Full SEO rebuild — schema on every page, correct canonicals, OG images, sitemap, robots
- 05
Sticky mobile bottom bar (Order · Where · Catering) — three taps to the three actions that matter

What changed on the site — and why it converts.
Risks the old site was actively creating
The live FoodHub template was bleeding revenue every day it stayed up. Here's what it was losing.
- 54-second mobile load — most visitors gone before the page painted
- No catering page at all — every 'food truck catering Brisbane' search lost to Big Roddy's or WingHAÜS
- Zero locations on the site — 'where are you this week?' still being asked in Facebook DMs every day
- Twelve years of awards invisible — the strongest trophy cabinet in the Brisbane market, hidden behind a generic template
- Catering page's canonical pointed at a URL that didn't exist — quietly killing whatever rank it could earn
- No Open Graph image — every Facebook, WhatsApp and iMessage share rendered a blank preview box
What this means for the business
Each change is tied to a commercial outcome the owner already cares about.
- Mobile load 6× faster → the majority of mobile visitors the old site was losing now stick around long enough to tap Order
- Dedicated /catering/ page → competes head-on for the highest-margin search in the category
- Trading hours, Maps links and structured data → fewer wasted trips, fewer 'are you open?' DMs, picked up by Google's Knowledge Panel
- Awards strip on the homepage → the conversion lever none of WingHAÜS, Big Roddy's or KaiKai can match
- Founder story told → press, sponsors and catering buyers finally have something to work with
- Clean SEO foundation (schema, sitemap, canonicals, OG, robots) → organic traffic compounds month over month instead of flatlining
